The journey of Shail Education & Welfare Society started with the setup of Indore Institute of Science & Technology (IIST) in the year 2003. Institute presently offers Under Graduate courses in Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Civil and Chemical Engineering. It also runs post graduate courses in Mechanical, CS and EC.

IIST also offers Masters in Business Administration to meet the growing requirements of management professionals. As large numbers of students are from semi-urban areas, the college has established a computerized 'Language Lab' to upgrade students' English communication skills. For holistic development of students and to make them ready to face the corporate world, 'Personality Development' sessions are held by specialists from the very first year under the guidance of qualified Soft Skill Trainers and Clinical Psychologists.

It has the distinction of being accredited for campus placements by TCS and ESSAR. To fill up the skills deficit and meet corporate requirements, IIST has tied up with IBM Career Education Programme, ORACLE for their WDP and MICROSOFT for Academic Alliance.
