| The 65th Independence Day of India was celebrated with traditional fervor
at the sprawling campus of Shail Group of Institutions. Students, staff and faculty
turned up in large numbers despite the low hung clouds and drizzle. Fortunately
the weather cleared and sun smiled brilliantly as the flag hoisting ceremony was
about to commence. Sharp at 9:00 AM, the National Flag was unfurled by Dr. S
R Lapalikar, Director, School of Engineering in the presence of Dr Shilpa Tripathy,
Principal, IIST (II); Dr B B Patil, Principal, IIMR; Dr Y Jaliwala, Principal, IIP; and
Prof Umesh Parikh, Principal, Indore Polytechnic. The security guards saluted the
Tiranga and simultaneously the group of faculty members & other staff members sang the National Anthem.
Dr Lapalikar in his address told the youth community “vkt ge Lora= gSA vFkkZr gesa cksyu dhs] fy[kus dh] viuh vkokt mBkus dh iw.kZ Lora=rk gSA ysfdu /;ku jgs] bl Lora=rk ds jgrs ge vuq’kklu fgurk uk djsaA ;g ftEesnkjh gekjs ;qokvksa fd gSA gesa muls cgksr vk’kk,sa gSA mUgh ds da/kks ij ;g Hkkj gSA mUgha dks ns’k dks vf/kd mapkbZ ij ys tkuk gSA bl gsrq mUgs dfBu ijhJe] yxu ds lkFk dk;Z djuk gksxkA ge tgka Hkh gS] tks Hkh dk;Z dj jgs gS] mls rUe;rk ls djuk gksxkA”

by reciting poems. The song sung by Ms Shailja Shukla evoked patriotic feelings.
A group dance by Sakshi, Aditi, Shilpa, Monica and Yashasvi candidly depicted
the maladies affecting our society and appealed to all to move beyond these & restore lost glories.
Ms Shweta Nagar and Ms Tanvi Rathore compered the event with elan. Vote of
thanks was given by Mr Rishi Neema.
